China RFQ cost check

How to send a short RFQ for China supplier cost checking.

A good RFQ does not need to be long. It should help a sourcing partner understand the product, quantity, target market and shipment destination clearly enough to check supplier fit.

The fastest RFQs start with regular SKUs

For distributor sourcing, the best starting point is usually 3-5 products the customer already buys regularly. These SKUs make it easier to compare China supplier options, replacement fit, MOQ and estimated landed cost direction.

What to include in the first message

  • Clear product photo, drawing, catalog page or current supplier reference.
  • Size, material, finish, voltage, rating, model number or packaging details when relevant.
  • Target quantity for trial order and expected regular demand.
  • Destination country, state or warehouse location.
  • Current buying price or target range if the customer is comfortable sharing it.
  • Certification requirements such as UL, ETL, CSA or packaging/labeling needs.

FAQ

RFQ and cost check questions

Is a target price required?

No, but it helps determine whether the supplier search is realistic and whether China sourcing is worth continuing.

Can I send photos instead of drawings?

Yes. Clear photos are enough to start. Drawings or dimensions are useful when exact fit matters.

Can Polarglow check MOQ?

Yes. MOQ is part of the first supplier fit review, especially for distributor restocking and trial orders.

Can you compare suppliers?

Polarglow can compare supplier options by product fit, estimated cost, MOQ, lead time and shipment feasibility.
